Dr Claire O'Sullivan -Dental Surgeon

Dr Claire O’Sullivan is originally from Kerry so is delighted to return home to open her own practice. 

 

Claire graduated from University College Cork with an honours degree in Dental Surgery. After qualifying Claire moved to work in a state of the art private practice in Singapore. Upon returning to Ireland, Claire spent time working in private practice outside Dublin and later Galway. 

 

Claire regularly dedicates time to improving her skillset across wide reaching areas of dentistry. She has completed a number of courses on topics such as Cosmetic Dentistry at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute London and Paediatric workshops with The IFPDC. She can also provide Anti-wrinkle injections (Botox) and Dermal Fillers having undergone training with the Aesthetics Training Academy of Ireland. 

Claire has also successfully completed exams to become a Member of the Joint Faculty of Dental Surgeons. 

 

Outside of work Claire loves the outdoors where she can be found hiking and running. She likes to read and bake in her spare time. 

Dr James Flood- Dental Surgeon

Dr James Flood is originally from Co. Limerick but now lives in Co.Kerry. He took over Castleisland Dental with Claire in 2020. 

James graduated with honours in Dental Surgery from University College Cork and then moved to Manchester where he completed a year of Dental Foundation Training. After working in Manchester for 3 years he moved to Galway, working in a busy city centre practice for 5 years before then moving to the Kingdom.

 

In 2018 James was awarded Colgate Caring Dentist of the Year for his kindness in providing care for his patients

 

James enjoys all aspects of Dentistry and works hard to ensure he is always up to date with the latest research and technology. He achieved a Certificate in Dental Implantology after training in The Implant Centre of Excellence in Manchester and is a member of the ITI (International Team of Implantology). James is passionate about the link between oral health and overall wellbeing. He has a keen interest in Dental Sleep Medicine and is a member of the ISDSM (Irish Society for Dental Sleep Medicine).

 

James is a keen Munster rugby fan. He enjoys hiking, and training for triathlons.

Katy Moore McCarthy- Dental Nurse

Katy is also from Co. Kerry and lives locally.

She attended Cork University Dental School and Hospital and graduated with a Diploma in Dental Nursing.

Katy has been working in her current position since January 2010.

 

She really enjoys every aspect of dentistry and providing great customer service. Katy loves helping anxious patients feel at ease. 

 

In her spare time she enjoys baking and going for walks on the beach and in the National Park.
